Gemballa Returns with Tornado Tuning Package for the New Porsche Cayenne

German tuning specialist Gemballa has announced a comprehensive package of goodies for the Porsche Cayenne called Tornado. This is the company’s first creation since former CEO and founder Uwe Gemballa was found dead in South Africa, after allegedly being involved in a money laundering scheme with a wanted Czech felon.

Starting with the bodykit, most tuners apply carbon fiber body panels by bonding them to modified factory steel pieces. However, this method doesn’t lighten the car and according to current Gemballa CEO, Andreas Schwarz, it’s not the way these materials should be used. “Carbon-fibre is a high strength, low weight structural material that needs to be used honestly, and not just for decoration”, Mr. Schwarz said.

Consequently, Gemballa went on and replaced most of the steel panels as well as many plastic parts on the Cayenne with carbon fiber equivalents. As a result, the company claims it has shaved a total of 70 kg or 154 lbs over the standard car, while retaining all security-related features, like side impact protection bars.

The Tornado boasts a modified front bumper with enormous air intakes that channel air to the brakes and are flanked by vertical LED daytime running lights. The wheel arches have been significantly widened, increasing overall width to 2.05 meters (81 inches). Many of the lightweight panels were left exposed, creating a sharp contrast with the white paintjob. At the back we can find rounded tail-lights, complementing the design of the four exhaust tips.

Huge 22-inch alloy wheels shod in 205/35 front and 335/30 rear tires, round up the exterior updates.

Gemballa doesn’t go into details when it comes to interior modifications, simply stating that these are still in development and will be “characterized by both elegance and functionality”.

As far as power is concerned, Gemballa is working on a Stage Two engine conversion for the Tornado, which will increase peak output to 700 hp and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque, through turbocharging. Upgraded Brembo brakes accompany the power boost.

The Tornado will have a limited production run of only 30 units. Full specs and pricing should follow soon.

Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition with 670HP Based on the Porsche Carrera GT

Since the early 1980s, Gemballa has been modifying Porsche cars of all sorts. Their latest creation is the Mirage GT Carbon Edition which is based on the Porsche Carrera GT that went out of production in 2006 after a limited run of a mere 1,270 examples. Understandably, the German firm will not sell the Mirage GT as a complete vehicle with those interested having to provide the donor car. Production of the Mirage GT Carbon Edition package that consists of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades will be limited to 5 copies with the price set at €298,000 or about $423,000 US.

As the car's name suggests, the Mirage GT comes with a carbon fiber aero kit that includes a front apron with larger intakes, new bonnet and front wings, side skirts with special air ducts, a new rear apron with an integrated diffuser, roof air scoop and an enlarged rear wing with an adjustable Gurney flap.

The interior of the Carrera GT is also upgraded with carbon fiber trim, new leather upholstery, a multimedia unit and a Gemballa design sport steering wheel with a full size airbag.

No Gemballa model is complete without mechanical upgrades and as such, the Carrera GT's standard V10 engine has received a reprogrammed Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that boosts output from 612HP to 670HP at 8,000 rpm and maximum torque to 630Nm or 465-lbs/ft delivered at 5,700 rpm. The result is a top speed of 335km/h or 208mph while acceleration from zero to 100km/h (62mph) comes in 3.7 seconds.

The package also includes a sports clutch and a hydraulic height-adjustable coilover kit that allows the driver to raise the car's road height by 45mm or 1.77-in. at the front- and rear axle while the kit is rounded off with a new set of alloy wheels wrapped in 265/35 ZR19 tires up front and 335/30 ZR20 at the back.

Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS: One Big, Bad Modded Porsche Cayenne

Sometimes, a vehicle's name is worth more than a thousand photos or a thousand words. Like, when you hear the name Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS, you know that what you're about to see ain't going to be pretty or puny... In this case, we're talking about Gemballa's heavily modified Cayenne proposal that comes with "Mad-Max" looks, an upgraded turbocharged V8 engine with 750HP and on top of that, a weight reduction of 250kg or 551 pounds over the standard Cayenne Turbo upon which it is based.

The extensive engine mods include the increase of the V8's displacement from 4.8- to 5.0-liters and the fitment of fortified forged pistons, special connecting rods, racing turbochargers along with a new air intercooler plus a remapping of the ECU. The result is an impressive output of 750HP at 6,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 1,050Nm or 774-lbs/ft at 3200 rpm. The Tornado 750 GTS accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed in excess of 300 km/h or 187mph.

To put all that power on the road in a politically correct manner, Gemballa's engineers outfitted the Cayenne with a sports suspension that includes an adjustable coilover kit that allows the lowering of the car by up to 70mm. The Tornado 750 GTS rides on a set of extra light 22-inch alloy wheels shod in 335/25 Z22 high performance tires while stopping power is provided by a new braking system with 6-piston brake callipers and 420mm discs at the front axle and 4-piston brake callipers with 380mm discs at the rear axle.

On the outside, Gemballa's team turned the Cayenne into a vehicle that could easily have had a role in the movie Death Race. Aerodynamic accessories aside, one of the highlights is the bonnet which has been 'fused' with the front wings and now opens as a whole.

Inside, Gemballa opted for a four-seat layout while the cabin has been upgraded with new materials and a redesigned center console hosting the lifted gearbox and the Data Control System.

The German tuning house said that the Tornado 750 GTS will be built in a limited number of 50 units with prices set at €400,000 or about $520,000 US.

The first thing that strikes anyone viewing the Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS is its body styling. Svelte and subtle it is not with bulges and air intakes all over the front, including the 70mm longer (than standard) forward opening bonnet. The bonnet isn't the only part of the Tornado 750 GTS that has been lengthened, the front and rear bumper/spoiler combinations have also been extended compared to the standard Porsche Cayenne. Whilst dimensions have increased weight has actually reduced, impressively the all carbon body styling is estimated to reduce the weight of the Tornado 750 GTS by 250kgs in comparison to a standard Cayenne.

The weight saving is doubly useful when one considers the power and torque of the tuned engine Gemballa {link} have produced for the Tornado 750 GTS. From its now 5 litre turbocharged engine the Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS produces a very impressive 750PS and 1050Nm of torque. Enough power to propel this über-Cayenne to 62mph from rest in 4.3 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 185mph. The extreme front body styling draws air into the engine, larger intercooler, radiator and brakes as well as actually drawing air away from hot areas in the engine bay too. Exhaust gases exit the engine through a custom designed exhausts system with 4 tailpipes.
With such explosive performance available Gemballa have had to improve the suspension and brakes considerably. Behind the 12x22" wheels, covered by 335/25 tyres, sit huge brakes (415mm diameter front and 380mm diameter rear) which offer excellent and durable braking. The handling has been radically altered and improved, the Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS sits some 70mm lower on coilover suspension. Even so the 750 GTS is no out-and-out sports car and has a higher centre of gravity than would be considered perfect for a car with 750PS.
Gemballa have created a sumptuous, refined and yet sporty interior with 4 sports seats, full leather and carbon seating, dash and door panels.
Exclusivity is assured as Gemballa are limiting the production of the £370,000 Tornado 750 GTS to 50 worldwide. Interested parties should contact Gemballa's Leonberg offices quickly as the über-Cayenne offers such performance that Gemballa are unlikely to struggle selling out, even in these difficult economic times.

Gemballa has equipped Porsche Panamera with new wheels

German tuning company Gemballa has developed additional complete sets of wheel disks for car Porsche Panamera Mistrale constructed on the basis of a four-seater sedan.

Two kinds of wheels for Panamera

Tuners have presented two kinds of wheels: 22-inch disks GT Sport with tyre covers dimension 265/30/22 in front and 315/25/22 behind, and also 22-inch disks GT Sport — Rs with rivets on external perimetre of the car, the sizes of 22 and 20 inches.

On a forthcoming motor show in Essen of studio Gemballa, possibly, will present also other completions for Panamera Mistrale.

Tuning company Gemballa has presented the new version of off-road car Porsche Cayenne.

GT 750 Aero 3 Sport Exclusive

The tuning package under name GT 750 Aero 3 Sport Exclusive included complex operational development of technical characteristics and design.

The Pearl-white car equip with a 750-strong turbo-engine, the twisting moment — 1050Nm. Dispersal to 100 km/h of all for 4,4 seconds, and the maximum speed reaches 300 km/h.
The off-road car has received an aerodynamic bumper and a sports exhaust system. In a pneumatic suspension bracket have built in the electronic module, allowing to reduce a road gleam.

Also Porsche Cayenne have equipped with wheel disks Gemballa Racing and have finished brake system. And in red salon there were individual armchairs behind, the multimedia centre and set of carbon applications.
